Arteta Hails ‘More Reliable’ Squad and Reveals Kai Havertz Injury Blow.

Mikel Arteta feels assured that his squad can persist in handling with fitness issues after disclosing that star striker Kai Havertz remains out for a few more weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for Havertz

The German forward has been sidelined since August due to an operation on his knee. Originally slated to be available sooner, Arteta revealed the player faced a hurdle when increasing his training and was unable to move forward “to the next level.”

“We took lessons, and managed to assemble a group that is much more reliable and has increased versatility,” stated the manager.

Selection Dilemma for Midweek Fixture

This development leaves a tactical puzzle for the midweek fixture at the Emirates against Brentford. The manager needs to decide between persisting with Mikel Merino, who scored playing out of position against Chelsea, or bringing back Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return from a muscle injury as a substitute. In response if a larger pool of players was helping their title quest, his response was positive. “Absolutely, as this campaign has presented greater challenges in the attacking line, and now the situation with the defence,” he added.
