Brian Eno Urges Support to Get Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A campaign is aiming to send a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign aims to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a opportunity to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“It has a very special place for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the performance was shelved during the concert due to time constraints.

The notable list of artists appearing on Lullaby features a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a significant sum for humanitarian aid.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The track blends a mix of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The team running the initiative have clarified that their aim is to generate maximum funds for a charitable pot. These resources will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a fixed goal,” a representative commented. “We’ll go for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings described as levelled or seriously harmed.

“In that context, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from later in the month.
