Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or deported from Singapore.
A circulating video depicts the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though legal records indicated that he was due to be present on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was formally accused.
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram account features clips of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a legal violation," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user wrote.
Several supporters criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had discussed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a devastating incident at the end of her May 2017 show in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote a further comment on Instagram.
Some fans also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.
In footage spreading on the internet, Grande appeared shocked when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.
Grande has remained silent on the event, and the remaining proceedings carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of supporters had congregated in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.
The film, to be premiered on 21 November, is the sequel of a two-part adaptation of the well-known stage show Wicked, which centers on the unexpected bond between two contrasting sorceresses.
The show itself is a spin-off of the 1900 story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, winning two for outstanding attire and set decoration.
