Persistent rains over the last seven days have worsened the already dire situation of the many hundreds of thousands of displaced residents in the region, according to humanitarian groups.
A spokesman described the weather overnight as "awful", with rain so heavy that up to 15cm (6in) of water was seen on the terrain.
"These conditions was exceptionally terrible for the residents. The storms were so powerful... And the winds were so strong," said the spokesperson.
Authorities voice significant anxiety that minors residing in tents in wet garments will contract hypothermia and additional ailments.
The health ministry have stated that one baby has died from hypothermia and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures due to the harsh conditions.
Additional accounts suggest a increased death toll. Spokespeople reported that multiple homes had fully given way and many others had sustained partial collapse.
Organizations have escalated shipments of tarpaulins, blankets and garments since the ceasefire started, but they stress there is still not enough aid getting in.
"Agencies are working relentlessly to provide that relief and to allocate it, but the size of the necessities is so enormous that we are faced with many thousands of people and minors who are really enduring hardship nightly," stated one representative.
The second phase of the truce encompasses proposals for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the pullback of personnel, and other terms.
Humanitarian organizations have highlighted the need for "greater and continuous aid to respond to urgent and ongoing requirements."
The war was triggered by an offensive in late 2023. Later campaigns have led to a significant number of fatalities in the territory, as per medical data.
