The gritty universe from Tom Clancy’s The Division is being adapted into a dice-based role-playing experience. A partnership was established to develop a tabletop RPG set within the franchise’s apocalyptic landscape. The project has been announced, with a crowdfunding campaign planned to launch in April of 2026.
"This project aims to deliver the series' unique suspense, strategic depth, and iconic world-building to the table, offering fans a new way to experience The Division through immersive storytelling and player-driven missions," reads an official release.
Initial offerings will include a beginner's box, core rulebooks, a GM screen, miniatures, and several deluxe editions.
In this universe, a lethal pathogen called Green Poison was unleashed in NYC, sending the nation into chaos. As the crisis worsens, civil order breaks down and violent factions emerge, transforming the urban landscape into a battlefield. To restore law and order, the authorities {activate|deploy] The Division, a covert network of undercover operatives. This is where the agents enter the story.
Development on the RPG has been underway for about several years, and it is reportedly complete. The forthcoming crowdfunding effort will function as a preorder system to access a broader market, specifically in North America. Production is slated to begin immediately following the fundraiser, with deliveries projected for later in 2026.
A preview at the system confirms it employs d10s exclusively through its proprietary GRIS system, encouraging a fast-paced and tactical style. Agents use skills or traits to assemble small dice pools, usually between one and five d10s.
Fights prioritize placement and situational awareness, reflecting the source material. Factors like taking cover, height advantage, or line of sight directly influence success chances. This mechanic seems built to reward teamwork and smart positioning over raw numbers.
The way injuries is tracked adds a interesting thematic twist. Operatives have a injury limit; taking heavy hits weakens their effectiveness by lowering the number of d10s.
A publicly available introductory rulebook will be released in the near future. It contains a ready-to-play introductory scenario called Ashes of Murray Hill. In this scenario, players spearhead the search for a missing medical team and work to stop an assault by the violent Rikers gang, who have seized control of that NYC neighborhood. Further information and the full range of offerings will be detailed near the Kickstarter start date.
